IMPORTANT UPDATE - EVENT POSTPONED
Due to the current COVID-19 situation it has been decided with heavy hearts that the event on April 4th will no longer take place. We are already working with local authorities and Manu Chao on setting a new event date for later in 2020.
To stay updated on the new event date, which will be announced soon, please follow us on Facebook and Instagram @tropikaglobal.
Manu Chao’s debut performance in Singapore with Tropika, the conscious interdisciplinary initiative, for his album tour, ‘Sibérie m'était contéee’ is supported by the Embassy of France in Singapore. The live music event takes place at FOC Sentosa on Saturday April 4, 2020.
Known for combining several languages and musical styles, Sibérie m'était contéee was the first French language-only album released by Manu Chao in 2004. It is the conflation between city, lover and the seasons poetically handled over 23 playful cameos, making an engaging French lesson. The flourishes of chanson alongside minimalist rock-reggae are a tribute to Paris, where Chao grew up.
Performing alongside Chao will be Singapore-based global music collectives Sonido Singapura and Beatroot. Chao shares the same ethos as Tropika who believes that regardless of language, location, race and religion, everybody should be entitled to equal access to health, wellbeing and opportunity. Together, we have decided to keep the ticket pricing fair for everyone at S$22.
Music performances start immediately at 4pm and last until closing time at 11pm.
We would also like you to know that you may stay calm and keep your mind at ease as FOC Sentosa is taking care of all health precautions and essentials; temperature scans upon entrance, sanitizing stations around the venue and masks when required, constant 24/7 support of Sentosa Rangers and medical crew should anyone need them, as well as an ambulance on standby during the whole duration of the event.
